SCREENWRITING WORKSHOP

This six-week workshop is aimed at helping you finally write that script you’ve been thinking about. It may be something you intend to star in or it may be written with the intention of broadening your creative / professional reach. This class is perfect for beginners and experienced writers alike.

 The thought of starting a screenplay can be daunting, but here you’ll begin with the tools you already have and build from there to become a better writer. You know more than you think you know.

 Here’s what we’ll cover:

- Structure

- Character

- Writing style

- Development of your ideas

At the end of six weeks you’ll have:

- An outline of your screenplay

- Completed select scenes

Each class will involve:

- Lecture on the subject

- Viewing of existing films and reading of sample screenplays

- Workshopping of each students’ ideas and homework

Homework includes working on your own outlines / scripts as well as reading of others’ work.

Private Consultation

I am available to meet one-on-one if there’s an idea you’re working on and could use a fresh set of eyes. Here’s a basic breakdown:

For coaching / notes on a 12 - 20 page outline:

$150 for a one-hour meeting

$100 for each follow up meeting

For coaching / notes on a completed draft:

$275 for a one-hour meeting

or

$300 for two meetings (approximately one hour each). With this option we would meet once to discuss notes, possible changes, and new ideas, then reconvene after you've addressed the notes for further discussion.

If you’re not that far along, I charge $100 and hour for basic consultation. We can look at your ideas and discuss best practices for getting them on paper.
